The Glen Ellyn Park District was awarded a $400,000 Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grant by Governor Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR). The OSLAD grant will fund a portion of the planned phase IV improvements at Ackerman Park, which includes renovation of the softball “hub”, an artificial turf athletic field, irrigation and drainage upgrades, bioswales, improved grass fields, an outdoor exercise area, and a trail system throughout the entire park. The Glen Ellyn Park District has published its Annual Report for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2018. Within the Annual Report are highlights of the Park District’s 2018 financial results and achievements. The report also contains information on natural area restoration projects, community events, partnerships, athletics and upcoming projects for 2019.

Not only does it provide kids with an opportunity for regular exercise, it helps them meet and make new friends and learn or improve on a variety of skills.
